Gehringer Brothers Estate Winery Dessert Wine Presentation Compare Late Harvest to Icewine in this unique selection, all packaged in a wooden gift box and signed by the winemaker. Late Harvest grapes are picked after the main harvest, waiting for that extra measure of ripeness and sugars produced through warm autumns, dry conditions or noble rot. Late Harvest Wines contain lower concentrations of sugars and acids than Icewine. Icewine is harvested at temperatures below -8 Celsius, so the sugars, acids and flavours slowly drip out, leaving the water as ice in the press. A natural concentration of flavours is the result. Riesling Late Harvest is intense and fruity with hints of peach, nectarine and green apple in the bouquet. The flavour finishes with a honeyed character. Riesling Icewine's sweetness is balanced by intensity of flavour and acidity. Aromas of apricot, honey and green apple are followed by flavours of the same. Best enjoyed as a dessert on its own. Cabernet Franc Late Harvest can be enjoyed before dinner with cheese and fruit, or after dinner. It offers aromas of currants, blackberries and cherries and with flavours of complex soft tannins. Red Icewines are unique. You'll find rich soft tannins resulting from a symphony of flavours! Likened to a liqueur, Icewine is often best as a dessert by itself, but in the case of the Cabernet Franc it would be a dreamy delight with chocolate, nuts and aged cheese. Lake Breeze Vineyards Twelve Bottle Collection 2006 Seven Poplars Pinotage 2006 Seven Poplars Pinot Noir 2007 Seven Poplars Chardonnay 2007 Seven Poplars Sauvignon Blanc Laughing Stock Vineyards Collector Magnums Laughing Stock Portfolio 2006 - Putting together a blended wine takes finesse and judgement so that the experience of the whole will be greater than the sum of the individual parts. Our flagship Portfolio wine has culminated into becoming a world-class Bordeaux blend by combining first-class grapes and highly reputable winemaking. The 2006 vintage continues to combine the five Bordeaux varietals: 61% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec and 2% Petit Verdot to create a mutli-layered complex wine. Following the award winning previous vintage (Gold at the Canadian Wine Awards), the current vintage shows huge promise with solid fruit and an integrated structure, even in its youthful stage. Our attention to quality production continues with the addition of a second sorting table at crush and whole berry fermentations. The wine has been blended in January of this year, and then returned to barrel for the final 4 months of aging to allow the components to have a little ‘bonding time’ before bottling. Barrel tastings of the various components for this wine reveal bright ripe fruit with rich cherry and dark berry flavours, and chocolate mint tones. As the separate elements come together the flavours and tannins meld nicely, ending with a plush and elegant finish. A classic and expressive wine. Collector Magnums Laughing Stock Chardonnay 2007 - Making a well-balanced Chardonnay is a challenge that requires a level of judgement and restraint to fully showcase the fruit characteristics balanced with fullness and finesse that only French Oak can impart. From fruit sourced on the Naramata Bench, this Chardonnay fills your mouth with a pineapple and citrus flavour rush and a smooth creamy texture still balanced with great acidity. Portfolio 2004 Our goal with Portfolio is to create many layers from combining the classic Bordeaux varietals. Each varietal was separately cold soaked for 4 to 5 days, then innoculated with yeast selections based on past vintages and ongoing yeast trials that we run in an effort to fine tune yeast and varietal matches. Building on these layers, we have established an extended barrel program using exclusively French oak. This 2004 vintage is a Bordeaux style wine that shows elegance in balance, refinement in tannin structure and fruit that tastes throughout the palate not just a jam jar approach seen in many new world wines. With a rich and spicy nose of clove and coffee, the black cherry and chocolate flavours mix with a hazelnut finish. Laying down in a cellar for a couple of years will further integrate the flavours and soften the tannins. Mission Hill Family Estate 2005 Oculus 750ml Oculus is Mission Hill Family Estate’s signature Bordeaux-inspired wine. This elegant and complex wine represents the pinnacle of everything we do from vineyard regimen to winemaking. Selected clusters from designated blocks within our estate owned vineyards in Osoyoos and Oliver are set aside and nurtured for this wine. At the winery, the fruit undergoes fermentation and extended maceration prior to aging in new and one year old French oak barrels for 14 months or more. This rich, deeply concentrated and powerful artisanal wine will develop additional complexity over three to five years. If opened young, it should be decanted prior to serving.
